Alinghi dominated the recent America's Cup warm-up series |
Organisers have been forced to delay the start of the Louis Vuitton Cup for the fourth day running because of light winds off the coast of Valencia. The postponed round-robin races will spill into reserve days next week.
Three flights a day will be raced in the second round-robin stage if weather continues to be unsuitable.
The two-month long competition features 11 yachts and will determine who challenges reigning America's Cup champion Alinghi of Switzerland.
One team benefiting from the layoff is Italy's +39 Challenge, which has nearly completed repair work on its broken mast.
The mast snapped after a collision with United Internet Team Germany in the third fleet race of the final warm-up regatta - Act 13 - earlier this month.
The Italians have since been using one of Alinghi's previous masts.
