Movistar lies in third place on 25 points, 13.5 behind the lead |
Spanish yacht Movistar was given a two-hour penalty in Wellington ahead of the fourth and longest leg of the Volvo Ocean Race for making hull repairs. The boat, which won the third leg by nine seconds, had to wait behind as the rest of the fleet set out for the 6,700 mile trip to Rio de Janeiro.
However, skipper Bouwe Bekking and his crew soon made up the lost time to hold the joint lead with ABN Amro One.
Moviestar continued to average a higher speed, with ABN Amro Two a mile behind.
