Cornish rower Helen Glover has said being named in the Great Britain squad for the Rowing World Championships has provided a huge boost to her career.
The 24-year-old will row with Heather Stanning in the women's pairs in New Zealand this November.
Glover told BBC Cornwall: "If you'd asked me this time last year if I'd be going I'd have probably said give me a couple more years.
"So the fact that I'm heading out there is really good for my progress."
It's hard to describe how physical it is - we're training at almost 100% for about seven hours every day

She added: "They don't take people unless they want them to compete because obviously New Zealand is a pretty expensive place to go in terms of travel."
Glover is set to travel to Germany for a training camp ahead of the World Championships which are being held from 31 October to 7 November.
"It's really intense," Glover continued. "It's hard to even describe to people how physical it is as we're actually training almost 100% for about seven hours every day.
"You're always putting your body under so much stress and you're always so tired that you're generally quite fragile emotionally, in terms of when little things go wrong it's quite easy to be a bit melodramatic."
Glover, who hails from Penzance, only started rowing in 2008 but was quickly identified as a future talent.
"I'm at the stage where I haven't been rowing for long enough to be sick of it," she said. "Every event I get to go to I'm still excited about."
