Bodman is aiming to compete in the 2016 Olympic Games

Guernsey rower Erica Bodman has been selected for the Great Britain under-23 winter training camp in France.

Bodman took up sculling after an injury prevented her carrying on with her first love, high jumping.

The 21-year-old said she does have Olympic hopes but maybe not for the London games in two years time.

"I think I started rowing too late to make the 2012 games, because it takes a long time to build up the aerobic endurance you need," Bodman said.

"So 2016 is a more realistic possibility."
