Britain took advantage of the repechage second-chance races to progress at the World Championships in Munich.

The women's eights, below par in their heat, moved into Sunday's finals, while the men's boat moved to the semi-final.

The lightweight quadruple scull, made up of Simon Jones, Robert Williams, Chris Bartley and Dave Currie, led from the start to secure a final place.

In the women's lightweight double sculls, Helen Casey and Hester Goodsell led Great Britain into the semi-finals.

"All in all we've had a good day," said performance director David Tanner. "There was a particularly good performance from our women's eight who raced extremely well."

Zac Purchase and Mark Hunter registered the quickest time in the quarter-finals of the men's lightweight double sculls to move into the semi-finals.
