Thunder's 52-49 win in front of 1,100 spectators means they sit second in the table having played six matches. The Bury-based outfit have two games in hand on Hertfordshire Mavericks, who beat Glasgow Wildcats 47-24. Team Bath are third with Surrey Storm, who beat Loughborough Lightning 58-53, in the fourth and final play-off spot after eight rounds of the campaign.
