Surrey Storm have signed former England Under-21 defender Hannah Reid, after last month's arrival of England's Sonia Mkoloma and Geva Mentor.

Reid joins after four seasons with Superleague side Loughborough Lightning.

The 25-year-old lives in Kingston and plays for Surrey club The Downs.

"I am really excited to be back in the London and South East Region and part of this new Superleague team under the guidance of Mary Beardwood," she said.

She added: "I am looking forward to the competition and challenges that lie ahead, as well as training and playing alongside some of the best players in the country."

Head coach Beardwood said: "Hannah really stood out at our first trial and we already know what she is capable of having played so well at Loughborough. I am thrilled she is joining us and strengthening our defence further."

Reid, Mkoloma and Mentor are expected to prove a formidable force in defence and Storm intend to announce further signings in the coming weeks.
