Slough Jets have announced they are not renewing the contract of head coach Peter Russell for the 2011/12 season.

Russell leaves the club with immediate effect after two seasons in charge.

General manager Dee Mason said: "Peter has had a great two seasons with the club and has achieved many things for which we are very grateful.

"However we feel a new approach is required for both the EPL Jets and Junior Academy. We wish Peter every success in the future."

The club also denied speculation about next season, confirming their intention to compete in next season's English Premier Ice Hockey League.
