Nottingham Panthers have signed defenceman Jeremy van Hoof on transfer deadline day in the Elite League.

The 29-year-old Canadian joins from the EPL after being part of an import rotation system in Guildford.

Neilson told the club's website: "I know what we're getting and I have wanted him to join us both earlier this season and a couple of years ago.

"Finally we get our man and I'm sure he'll be good for us and will be solid at the back."

The stay-at-home defenceman, who is a former team-mate of Neilson, carries a Dutch passport and has twice been drafted in the NHL.
