Hull Stingrays target three Christmas holiday victories

Sylvain Cloutier
Cloutier wants to be 6th in the Elite league table before 2011 opens

Hull Stingrays are looking for a big Christmas as they aim to move up the Elite League table.

The Rays have home and away games against Newcastle followed by the visit of Dundee to the Hull Arena - all in the space of three days.

Coach Sylvain Cloutier told BBC Radio Humberside: "The guys are having a few days off then we need to hit the ice running after that.

"We have three games against sides below us and winning is important."

The Stingrays will be keen to bounce back after losing their last game 4-1 in Cardiff last Wednesday night.

Prior to that, they had taken six points from a possible eight in the Elite League and are now just three points behind 6th place Braehead with five games in hand on the Scottish team.

Cloutier added, "Our main aim is to go past Braehead before the New Year and it's possible we could do that - we have to play well and just because Dundee and Newcastle are below us, doesn't mean they will be easy teams to play.

"Sixty-minute hockey is what we are all about and that's the way we win games and the boys know that."
