Man-of-the-match Fussey celebrates his hat-trick

Coventry Blaze began their Continental Cup campaign with a 6-1 victory over Latvian champions Liepajas Metalurgs in Rouen, France, on Friday.

Owen Fussey bagged a hat-trick for Blaze who took the lead inside a minute, courtesy of Jonathan Weaver.

Fussey and Dan Carlson then scored before the first interval, with Fussey adding two more and Aaron Nell netting in the second.

With the damage already done, Metalurgs grabbed a late consolation.

Blaze face Polish side Cracovia Krakow on Saturday before going head-to-head with the hosts Rouen Dragons on Sunday in Group D of the tournament.
