Nottingham Panthers forward Dustin Sproat is set to leave after asking to be released from his contract. Canadian Sproat, who moved to Nottingham from the East Coast Hockey League in June, wants to return to the USA to continue his business studies. He also wants to work more closely with his hockey-based children's charity in North America and play in the AHL. "The decision to leave such an awesome hockey city has not been easy," Sproat told the club's website. "I really do love the city of Nottingham; the fans, the Panthers organisation, and my team-mates have all been great to me during my time in England. "The decision to leave such an awesome hockey city has not been easy. I wish the Panthers all the best and will be following their fortunes closely from back home." Player coach Corey Neilson said the club would look to replace Sproat, who has scored six goals in his 17 appearances for Panthers this season.
