Manchester Phoenix have signed 22-year-old forward James Archer from former Elite League side Hull Stingrays. Archer, who spent time at various clubs including Peterborough, Milton Keynes and Coventry, was without a side after Hull went of out business last week. Player-coach Tony Hand told the Phoenix website: "James is, quite simply, a really good hockey player. "He's a good skater, he's tough, he's got energy and he gets goals. That's exactly what we are looking for." Archer added: "It's true that I was devastated about what happened at Hull. I was looking forward to the challenge of a first full season in the Elite league. "But I have put that behind me now and I am looking forward to this season with the Phoenix."
