Josh Ward (pictured left) celebrates after scoring against Newcastle |
Nottingham Panthers assistant coach Bruce Richardson has hailed the form of youngster Josh Ward. The 17-year-old scored Panthers ninth goal in their 10-3 thrashing of Newcastle Vipers on Saturday. Richardson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "I don't think we give enough credit to Josh. He's a great skater and he's still young. "I think he's going to be really good in the future for the Panthers and he is good enough to skate with the best." Ward is a product of the junior system in Nottingham and currently plays for the Under-18s and also the Nottingham Lions in the English National League. The winger has stepped up to play for the Panthers nine times this season and has just been selected to play for the Great Britain Under-18s in Poland in March.
