Chelmsford Chieftains have expressed their concern following a back injury to an opposition netminder. Haringey Greyhounds' Laura Saunders was stretchered off the ice during the third period of the English National League, Division 1 South match. Chieftains were already leading 8-0 when the goalie collided with Chelmsford's Danny Hammond. Saunders was taken to hospital but released shortly afterwards as the injury was not as bad as first feared. The club's official website carried the following message: "The Chelmsford Chieftains management, players and fans would like to send their best wishes to Laura, her family and the Haringey organisation and hope for a full and speedy recovery." No further play took place, and the result stood. Hammond, Sean Easton, Blaho Novak, Rich Whiting, Alex Green, Jerry Pavlus and Ross Brears, with two, all scored for the Essex side.
