Newcastle Vipers have signed former Sheffield Steelers netminder Kevin Reiter on a one-month deal after injury to regular goalie Michel Robinson. Reiter, 28, had been with Sheffield earlier this season, before an injury saw him replaced by former Vipers netminder Andrew Verner. "We've been very fortunate to have the opportunity to bring in Kevin Reiter," said coach Rob Wilson. "While Michel is out I'm more than sure Kevin will come up with the goods." Robinson's absence comes after the former Edinburgh and Nottingham netminder had played through the Vipers last couple of games with an injury. | It's been a massive blow to lose him for the whole organisation |
And Wilson paid tribute to the Montreal-born player following his arrival at the club. "We wish Michel a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the ice very soon," added Wilson. "He's been outstanding for us so far and has kept us in a lot of games where we've had our backs to the wall. "He's been a model professional on and off the ice since arriving on Tyneside and it's been a massive blow to lose him for the whole organisation."
