Nottingham Panthers have returned to the top spot of ice hockey's Elite League after beating Edinburgh.
Panthers led 3-1 in the second period but the Capitals levelled before David Clarke hit the winner to make it 4-3.
The result leaves Nottingham two points ahead of Coventry Blaze in second, who now have five games in hand.
Panthers player-coach Corey Neilson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We went out there with a defence first mentality. We didn't want to give up any goals."
The victory marked the end of a run of five successive away defeats, which had prompted Neilson to sign defenceman Mario Larocque.
But the Panthers boss said he was happy with their attitude.
"We were very conservative, we wanted to win the game 1-0. That was our goal from the onset," he said.
"We committed to the process. I think we scored some good goals but we had a defence first mentality," Neilson added.
The Panthers now face Hull Stingrays on Saturday while next up for Coventry is a home match against Newcastle.
