Swindon Wildcats opened their latest English Premier League campaign with a win and a defeat. The Wildcats started the season by beating Romford 6-1. Matt Foord scored a hat-trick with Alan Green, Dylan Row and Lee Richardson also on target. Swindon's away tie at Manchester Phoenix 24 hours later saw the visitors lose 4-3 late on. Foord found the net again whilst Joe Baird and Jozef Kohut also netted against the league's new-boys.
