Thompson was dejected after losing 6-2 against the Panthers |
Coventry Blaze head coach Paul Thompson believes "major surgery" is needed on his squad over the summer after losing in the play-off semi-finals. Blaze lost 6-2 against the Nottingham Panthers with Danny Stewart and Barrie Moore scoring for Coventry. Thompson told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "It is going to be an interesting summer because major surgery is needed." "The second place in my eyes is the first place for losers," he added. "I am not in this sport to be interviewed thinking that we are not going to be involved in a final, I am not used to it", Thompson added. "They are a great bunch of guys but maybe that is the problem, they are maybe a bit too nice."
