Evan Cheverie was on target for the Giants in Coventry

The Giants jumped above Coventry and into third place after Sunday's high-scoring Elite League encounter.

Two goals from Barrie Moore had Coventry ahead in the first period before Andrew Martin pulled one back.

Moore completed his hat-trick but two goals from player-coach Steve Thornton and another from Evan Cheverie had the Giants 4-3 up after two periods.

Erik Hjalmarsson netted for Coventry but Martin, Tyler Howells and Cheverie secured the win for the Giants.
