Sheffield Steelers head coach Dave Matsos has described his side's 2-1 win in Belfast on Wednesday as 'huge'. Matsos said it was a crucial result: "I don't think I can put into words what a big win that was. "Taking five points out of Belfast in three games in the past few weeks is huge for us," he told BBC Radio Sheffield. The Steelers are now nine points clear of Nottingham Panthers at the top of Elite League with 17 games remaining. "I thought we played a great first period and perhaps should have come in at the end of the period a couple of goals up. "The second period wasn't our best, we didn't play great and gave Belfast far too many chances. Even so we were only 1-0 down and that was a good power play goal. "We have just 17 games left, six against the big three, every game is now huge starting with the two road games this weekend against Edinburgh."
