Nottingham Panthers coach Corey Neilson has praised the recent form of winger Brendan Cook.

The Canadian scored seven goals in his first seven matches but then endured a run of two goals in 22 outings.

He has since recovered his hot streak, netting in the last three matches, including back-to-back goals against Sheffield Steelers.

Neilson told BBC Radio Nottingham: "It's nice to see Cooky coming out of his shell and he loves it here."

Cook has now scored 12 goals this season and has provided 19 assists for a total of 31 points in 32 matches.

Neilson added: "He's a dynamic hockey player and has that exceptional speed, if you get him wound up in the corners and down the wing he's a real serious threat.

"He has a great partnership which Matthew Myers who opens a lot of space for him and Jade [Galbraith] who has so much skill and moves the puck around.

"I am really happy with the way that line is clicking."
