Joel Petkoff has played his last game for the Wildcats

Swindon Wildcats have released forward Joel Petkoff from his contract.

The 26-year-old left the club on Sunday despite scoring twice in the 3-2 win over Milton Keynes Lightning, including the sudden-death winner.

The player re-signed for the Wildcats in September but has failed to meet performance targets set by the club.

Wildcats general manager Steve Nell told BBC Wiltshire: "We're not prepared to carry anyone who is not achieving their performance targets."
