Sacked Swindon Wildcats head coach Peter Russell has revealed his enormous disappointment at losing his post.

He was dismissed on Wednesday, after two years in charge at the Link Centre, and told BBC Radio Wiltshire: "I'm absolutely gutted, really disappointed.

"If I was bottom of the league I could expect it but we all move on, Swindon Wildcats move on and I need to move on.

"Everybody should just forget about me now and move on to the players and whoever comes in to support them."
