Adam Calder scores the winning penalty against Panthers |
Coventry Blaze moved two points clear at the top of the Elite League after Sunday's dramatic 4-3 penalty shootout win over rivals Nottingham Panthers. Just as he had done in Saturday's 5-4 win at Cardiff, Adam Calder scored the game-winning penalty. Blaze were behind three times at the Skydome only to pull themselves level through Barrie Moore, Sylvain Deschatelets and Calder. And, for the second successive match, Calder kept his nerve in the shoot-out. Sunday's tight victory helped Blaze, who also have two games in hand, to stretch their lead over Panthers to two points.
