Nottingham Panthers captain Danny Meyers has urged his side to show true character to get themselves out of their slump in form. Panthers were beaten 6-4 by Basingstoke on Tuesday night and are now without a victory in five matches. Defenceman Meyers, 25, told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We have to pull ourselves out of this slump and we need to stand up and be counted. "This is where players show their true character and we must turn it around." Panthers face Manchester at the National Ice Centre on Saturday, before travelling to Coventry Blaze on Sunday. Meyers added: "We know the results haven't been good enough recently and we know we have to improve. These are two tough games for us but games we know we can win."
