Great Britain forward Robert Dowd scored a hat-trick as Sheffield Steelers beat arch-rivals Nottingham Panthers 6-3 on Sunday night. Six thousand five hundred fans watched Dowd, 20, produce an heroic display as the Steelers fought back from 3-1 down. "I can't believe it. It's a fantastic feeling to score three against your rivals," Dowd told BBC Radio Sheffield. "This is up there with winning a gold medal at the World Championships. I'm in dreamland." The Steelers are now five points behind the Panthers in the Elite League but have two games in hand. Steelers coach Dave Matsos was delighted with the performance. "That shows what this team is capable of but we need to find some consistency now. Rob will take the headlines but all of the guys were fantastic."
