Wilson is looking forward to the new season

Newcastle Vipers head coach Rob Wilson believes his side are ready for their Elite League opener at home to Nottingham Panthers on Saturday.

Vipers' preparations have been affected by the late arrivals of overseas players but Wilson says the unit will be fully prepared come the weekend.

"I'm excited by this team playing at full strength, we've got skill, speed, grit and size," Wilson said.

"We're back to full training on Tuesday in readiness for the Nottingham game."
