Coventry Blaze have completed their six-man defensive unit after signing Corey LeClair from Dayton Bombers. The 24-year-old has spent the last three seasons plying his trade in the East Coast Hockey League. Blaze head coach Paul Thompson said: "His skating ability really is a fantastic asset. "I wanted this last import defensive slot to be taken by a very, very mobile player who can clock up the minutes on the ice," he added. LeClair will line up with Coventry's four Great Britain internationals Jonathan Weaver, Ben O'Connor, Leigh Jamieson and Tom Watkins as well as Matt Soderstrom. Speaking about the move, LeClair said: "I am thrilled to be suiting up for the Blaze this coming season. "I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to be a part of a top flight organization with a proven record of success such as the Coventry Blaze. "The choice to come to Coventry was a no-brainer for me. From everything I've heard, Coventry is one of the most amazing hockey environments to play in. "This will be a unique opportunity for me to grow as a hockey player, as well as giving me the opportunity to expand my horizons by experiencing a new culture. "I feel that I will be able to make a significant contribution to an already stellar hockey team. More specifically, I am looking forward to using my speed and other assets to fill the role that Coach Thompson has designated for me."
