Lewis is looking forward to playing for Blaze |
Coventry Blaze have raided Elite League rivals Belfast Giants for a second time to bolster their roster. Head coach Paul Thompson has drafted in forward Carlyle Lewis and he will link up with former team-mate Leigh Jamieson at the Skydome. At six foot three inches and weighing 230 pounds the 30-year-old Lewis will add power to the Blaze forward line. The Canadian has previously played for Coventry's Continental Cup hosts HC Bolzano from Italy. Thompson said: "We have needed a forward like Carlyle Lewis in our line up for the last few years. "I think everybody is well aware of his toughness, but it's the physical element of his all round play that attracted me to him. "I want Carlyle to make every night uncomfortable for opposition defencemen." Lewis commented: "I feel like I didn't meet my personal goals last year, so I really have something to prove to both myself and some other people in the league. "I've been training hard all summer and I'm really looking forward to pulling on the Blaze jersey. "I can't wait to step on the ice in front of the fans in Coventry, winning them over and helping to bring the team some more trophies."
