Bracknell Bees beat Milton Keynes Lightning 2-1 to reach the English Premier League play-off finals weekend. After a tense, goalless opening period, Matt Foord put the home side ahead from close range. Michal Kanka doubled the lead with a superb finish following a one-two with captain Adam Bicknell. Lightning's Greg Randall set up a close finish with his late goal, but the Bees saw out the remaining minutes to book their place at the finals in Coventry. Bracknell will now face Sheffield Scimitars in their play-off semi-final. Guildford Flames' 4-3 victory over the Scims was not enough to overhaul Sheffield on goal difference in Group A. That means Guildford, second placed in the group, will face Group B winners Slough Jets. Slough finished a point ahead of Bracknell in the standings despite a penalty shots defeat at home to Swindon Wildcats. Swindon and Milton Keynes failed to qualify, joining Romford Raiders and Peterborough Phantoms who had already been knocked out. Romford beat Peterborough 5-3 in Sunday's dead rubber between the two sides. The EPL play-off finals weekend takes place at Coventry's Skydome on 12-13 April.
