The Bees won the second leg of the final 3-1 in overtime to record a 6-5 aggregate victory over local rivals Slough Jets.

Jan Melichar scored the golden goal with two minutes of overtime remaining.

Earlier Peter Jasik and Ryan Watt had given the Bees a two goal lead on the night, before Richie Hargreaves pulled one back for the Jets.

For Bracknell, taken over by a fans' consortium mid-season amid rumours the franchise was on the brink, lifting the trophy was a sweet moment - not least because it came at the home of near neighbours Slough.

New owner Katie Eleftheriou told BBC Radio Berkshire it was a "fantastic night".

"The guys played brilliantly. The fans were going crazy, in fact we'd been going crazy all night," she said.

"We had a couple of drummers there and they kept the atmosphere going. All the fans have pulled together. We truly deserve what we've got."

But for Slough player-coach Steve Moria, it was the bitter taste of defeat.

He was particularly unhappy with the late penalty call against Tony Redmond of the Jets.

"It's very disappointing obviously," he said. "It was a hardfought game, I can't fault any of the guys. It came down to breaks.
