The new players are not delivering for Ed Courtenay |
Belfast Giants suffered their fourth successive defeat as Newcastle Vipers claimed a 2-1 win in Friday's Elite League clash at the Odyssey Arena. The Giants dominated the first period but failed to score as Pavel Gomenyuk put the Vipers ahead.
After further missed chances, Scott Cameron levelled for the Giants in the final period but Mark Gouett's sucker punch goal earned the Vipers victory.
The Giants have an away league game against Nottingham on Saturday (1900).
The defeat by the in-form Vipers keeps the Giants at the bottom of the Elite League table after claiming only one win this season.
Belfast had a major turnover of players during the summer and the squad has yet to deliver for coach Ed Courtenay.
