Curtis Huppe put the Giants ahead early on but goals from Greg Chambers and Tony Redmond and a Shawn Maltby double ensured lowly Bison's victory.
The Giants play Nottingham on Wednesday before tackling Edinburgh next Sunday.
Belfast were without Ed Courtenay who was serving the first match of a two-game ban picked up in the Giants' 5-2 home defeat by the Cardiff Devils in Belfast last week.
The Giants had won all five meetings between the sides this season but with the pressure building, they slipped up in Saturday's fixture.
