Ed Courtenay is aiming for league success with Belfast Giants
Belfast Giants can win the Elite League against Cardiff at the Odyssey on Wednesday night after they won on Sunday and challengers Newcastle lost.

The Giants crushed the Steelers 7-1 in Sheffield while the Vipers went down 5-1 to Cardiff on their home rink.

The Giants were well in command from the first period with goals from Colin Shields, Jason Bowen and Curtis Huppe.

Ron Shudra scored for Sheffield, but Ed Courtenay, Todd Kelman, Theo Fleury and Huppe with his second saw Belfast home.

In Sunday's other games, Edinburgh were hammered 10-2 at home by Basingstoke, and Nottingham won 3-2 at Coventry.
