Cardiff Devils claimed a valuable Elite League play-off point away from home as they drew 1-1 at Sheffield Steelers. Devils dominated the first period and Nathan Rempel put the visitors into the lead at 5.21, picking up a shot from Russ Romaniuk to fire into the net.
The celebrations however were short lived when Mike Peron broke through to equalise for the Steelers.
Neither team could break the deadlock, although the Devils out-shot their hosts to the tune of 32-18.
But Devils Coach Dave Whistle saw it as a point gained rather than a point lost: "It was a very good result for us but we deserved to win for sure.
"We probably only gave then five or six good scoring chances, we played good defensively.
"We didnt get a lot of good scoring chances after the first period, but Id definitely take a point right now."
