Giants coach Ed Courtenay has brought in a new netminder |
Belfast Giants coach Ed Courtenay has added netminder Mike Minard to his roster for the new Elite League season. Minard started his professional career in 1996-97 and has played for Wheeling, Dayton, Reading and Toledo.
He starred for Columbia Inferno last season in the East Coach Hockey League, claiming an impressive five shutouts.
"I am delighted that Mike will be goal-tending for us and I believe he will be outstanding in the Elite League this year," said Courtenay.
Minard's capture follows the news on Friday that defenceman Curtis Huppe was returning to the Odyssey Arena for the new campaign.
