| Royal Ascot with the BBC Willie Carson and Clare Balding will be at Royal Ascot The Royal Enclosure may be out of bounds for most but racing fans far and wide can keep abreast of all the latest news from Royal Ascot thanks to the extensive multi-media coverage of the BBC. BBC Television will cover 24 races live from the prestigious event at the Berkshire course. And there will also be a nightly highlights programme for those who have missed the action earlier in the day. Clare Balding and Willie Carson will present each afternoon's programme, with award-winning commentator Jim McGrath calling the races. Jimmy Lindley and new signing Ray Cochrane will take up their positions in the paddock, providing expert commentary on the runners and riders, with reports and interviews from Jonathan Powell.
Royal Ascot is often the place to be seen, so sartorial elegance is just as relevant as the races themselves. Designer Jeff Banks and fashion experts Yvette Brice and Trinny Woodall will provide analysis on all the latest trends. And with all eyes on the Queen in her Golden Jubilee year, the BBC's royal correspondent Jennie Bond will be commentating on matters regal. Thirty cameras will be operating to capture all the atmosphere, including the highly successful "favourite cam", which tracks the market leader. A helmet-mounted camera will give armchair views a realistic feel of what the jockey is seeing during the race. The event will be broadcast in more than 60 countries all over the world. BBC Five Live will also be following events at the five-day Royal meeting. There is commentary on four races daily with the regular team Cornelius Lysaght, Lee McKenzie and Luke Harvey. Former trainer Charlie Brooks will be at the start to sample the unique atmosphere as the horses are loaded into the stalls while former top jockey Walter Swinburn will be on hand to provide expert analysis. The coverage includes a special programme on Gold Cup day (also knowns as Ladies' Day) on Thursday, 20 June, which will be jointly presented by John Inverdale and Simon Mayo. BBC Sport Online will provide a live racewatch on every day of the meeting, following each race of the day. It will also carry all the latest news, reports, features and photo galleries as well as offering a full results service.
