Johnny Murtagh rode Sans Frontieres to victory in the Geoffrey Freer Stakes |
Newmarket trainer Jeremy Noseda has earmarked Sans Frontieres, Laddies Poker Two and Leahurst as a trio to look out for next season. The Shalfleet stable enjoyed success with all three horses this year. "Sans Frontieres found his form and took up the baton. He's a very exciting prospect," Noseda told his website. "As is Laddies Poker Two who I also have high hopes for, and Leahurst too. They are high-class horses to look forward to for next season." Sans Frontieres recorded a hat-trick of victories, with the four-year-old succeeding in the Princess of Wales's Stakes at Newmarket, Newbury's Geoffrey Freer and the prestigious Group One Irish St Leger. While Leahurst picked up two wins earlier in the year, both coming at Meydan in the United Arab Emirates, while Laddies Poker Two secured glory in the Wokingham at Ascot in July. "Laddies Poker Two's win in the Wokingham was hugely satisfying. We had that plan for her in 2009 but we were forced to wait to 2010," Noseda added. "To win a race of that calibre, as the well-backed favourite, after 21 months off that track, was a great thrill and a compliment and boost to everyone in the yard. " Noseda recorded over 50 winners in 2010, with a strike rate of 17%.
