Keighley beats Jonjo O'Neill and Nigel Twiston-Davies
Relative newcomer Martin Keighley has beaten both Jonjo O'Neill and Nigel Twiston-Davies to be crowned Gloucestershire's top trainer.
Based on a handicap points system, the county's Trainers' Championship measures success on a horse for horse basis from October to April.
"It's a very good achievement, a big team effort, with a great team behind me," Keighley told BBC Gloucestershire.
Keighley has saddled 27 winners since October, including three at Cheltenham.
"To have one winner at Cheltenham is brilliant, but to have three - it's nice to have that quality of horse," said the former jockey, who trains at Condicote - the former base of champion trainer David 'The Duke' Nicholson, near Stow-on-the Wold.
Benbane Head won at Cheltenham in October. Wolf Moon won at the Prestbury Park circuit in both November and January.
However their handler is hoping there is still more to come from his stable stars: "They've got lots of potential," Keighley said.
"Benbane Head unfortunately was injured after his win at Cheltenham, but he'll be back next season, he's only a young horse, he'll be a lot stronger - I think he could even be a World Hurdle horse."
"Wolf Moon will make a cracking novice chaser for next season, so lots to look forward to and two horses that will hack round the track as well."
