Royal Prodigy won the Cenkos Channel Islands Handicap over two miles and one furlong at the Guernsey Race Club's May Bank Holiday meeting at L'Ancresse. Ridden by Mattie Bachelor the English horse finished ahead of Snowlark, who also finished second in the 2008 race. Winning Grand National jockey Liam Treadwell finished fourth on local horse Slickdalay behind Crystal Reign. "I've had a wonderful day and am looking forward to coming back again," said Treadwell, who rode in two races. Goodbye Cash was the winner over the six furlongs of the Bob Froome Memorial Handicap followed by Secret Assassin, High Voltage and Spinning Bailiwick. The SG Hambros Handicap of one mile was won by Wahoo Sam, with Don Pietro in second, Garden Party (ridden by Treadwell) third and Wall Street Runner fourth. Bachelor, winning jockey in the feature race, was thrown by Irish horse High Octave in the Norman Molle Handicap over one and a half miles. This race saw a fantastic win for Penang Cinta, who finished some distance ahead of Pole Star, 2008 feature race winner Koka Fast and Friends Hope. Lord of the Wing took top spot in the last race of the day, the Great Buying Guernsey Handicap over one mile and two furlongs, Mucho Loco finishing second ahead of Top Level and Silver Nun.
