Following on from Kauto Star's win at Cheltenham, The Fakenham Silver Cup was taken by 4-5 favourite Joe Jo Star.

Winning jockey Brian Hughes told BBC Radio Norfolk it was a deserved win.

"He was a cut above the rest, but I thought he should have won his last run at Mussleburgh when he made a horrific mistake two out," he said.

Former Grand National winning jockey Jason Maguire opened the day's action at Fakenham Racecourse by winning the first two races of the day.

The Irish Grand National winner took the opening race of the day by a massive 13 lengths on board 10-1 shot Keyneema, then took the second on 4-11 favourite Valley Ride.

4-1 shot I'moncloudnine won the third race while Dellover won the fourth at 9-2 ahead of 2-1 favourite Grasp.

The final race of the day was won by another favourite, Norwind, at odds of 11-10.

The next meeting at Fakenham Racecourse will be on Easter Monday.
