Officials at Fakenham Racecourse have been left hoping for a thaw ahead of Friday's scheduled Countryside Counts Raceday meeting.

The Friday meeting has been called into doubt after temperatures in the early hours of Thursday morning fell to three degrees celsius below freezing.

An inspection will be held on Thursday afternoon to judge whether racing will be possible at the Norfolk track.

A further inspection could then be held on Friday morning if temperatures hold.
