Manduro claimed the honours in the Prince of Wales's Stakes, the feature race of day two. Otherwise, it was Jimmy Fortune's day with the Irishman riding Tariq, Nannina and Royal Oath to victory to take his total number of winners for the meeting up to four.
Attendances were down by some 15,000 on day one, but organisers were hopeful that good weather would attract more punters along on day two.

It's more Irish success at Ascot as Johnny Murtagh saddles Elletelle to victory in the second to last race of the day.
Murtagh was travelling along nicely in the middle of the pack and timed his run to the front perfectly for the filly to hold on to the finish line without much problem.
1653: "I had 10 treble on Tariq, Nannina and Royal Oath to win 3400! Well done Jimmy Fortune!"
Stuart, Cumbria via text
1650: The horses are nearly ready for the Queen Mary Stakes and, not surprisingly, Jimmy Fortune's mount Bastakiya is being backed.
1620 - Royal Hunt Cup Heritage Handicap
1. Royal Oath (J Fortune) 9-1
2. Flipando (JP Spencer) 16-1
3. Vortex (J Murtagh) 50-1
4. Supaseus (JF Egan) 17-2

It's turning into the Jimmy Fortune Show at Royal Ascot, as the popular Irishman takes his third win of the day, and his fourth of the meeting.
With the field stretched across the track, Supaseus - running on his own on the far side - held the lead for most of the race before his rivals came back in the latter stages.
Royal Oath burst out of the pack in the middle of the track and powered to a win by four lengths.
1618: A touch of class from the dapper Bruce Forsyth.
Julia Bradbury: "Have you had any winners, Bruce?"
Brucey: ""No. the only winner I've had is my darling wife."
Nice to see you. Etc.
1614: Montpelier has been backed into favourite status on the course in the 1620 Royal Hunt Cup Heritage Handicap.
1608: "Is it me or did Dylan Thomas not want to go past Manduro? I thought the ground beat it, in Ireland but the horse does seem a bit reluctant to win."

1555: Prince Charles is handing out the prizes as well he might given the name of the last race. On a related note, Clare Balding tells us all that the future King once rode a horse in a race on the flat at Plumpton.
1545 - Prince of Wales's Stakes (1m 2f)
1. Manduro (S Pasquier) 15-8 Fav
2. Dylan Thomas (C Soumillon) 2-1
3. Notnowcato (J Murtagh) 13-2
6 ran
The big race of the day goes the way of Stephane Pasquier to maintain his unbeaten record on board Manduro.
The early pace is very slow, with the lead falling to Sir Percy with nobody else showing much interest in making the running.
Notnowcato makes an attempt to pick things up halfway out, but Manduro and Dylan Thomas, the two most-fancied horses, cruise to the front and the Andre Fabre-trained horse comes out on top.
1537: The horses are walking up to the start for the Group One Prince of Wales's Stakes, and Notnowcato is being kept at some distance from the others to ensure he doesn't get himself to worked up.
1523: There is a Vivienne Westwood fashion show going on at the course with some outfits on display which I might describe as "eccentric".
But that's fine, apparently, as the subsequent interview with various fashion types reveals that eccentricity is an intrinsic part of the character of Royal Ascot.
1518: The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall make their way down to the pre-parade ring to get an early look at the horses for the next race.
1505 - Windsor Forest Stakes (1m)
1. Nannina (J Fortune) 3-1 Co-Fav
2. Satwa Queen (L Dettori) 3-1 (Co-Fav)
3. Sabana Perdida (CP Lemaire) 50-1
4. Fann (RL Moore) 100-1
Nannina provides Jimmy Fortune with his second win of the day, after giving him a lovely ride to win by some distance.
Waseema took up the running early on, although the pace set was a fairly sedate one, and Nannina had too much pace and strength for her rivals after taking the lead about 1 furlongs out.
Interestingly, the first three jockeys are exactly the same as for the first race.
1459: The horses and jockeys are getting ready for the next race, the 1505 Windsor Forest Stakes with Echelon, Nannina and Satwa Queen all vying for favouritism at 3-1.
1452: "I think it is disgusting that so-called ladies are allowed to walk about at Ascot with bare legs. Ladies should be made to wear tights or stockings."

I'm not making this up, I promise.
1430 - Jersey Stakes (7f)
1. Tariq (J Fortune) 15-2
2. US Ranger (CP Lemaire) 6-5 Fav
3. Arabian Gleam (L Dettori) 14-1
4. Traffic Guard (JF Egan) 66-1

Sonny Red and Thousand Words made the early running in the first race of the day, before US Ranger hit the front with about two furlongs to go.
But the heavy favourite was outrun by Jimmy Fortune on board Tariq, who had to come from almost the back of the field, in the final stages to give the bookies something to smile about early on.
"It all went to plan - my main concern was to get this horse relaxed," Fortune told BBC Sport.
Model Jodie Kidd, part of the BBC presenting team, is looking very pleased with herself after getting the winner and the second in the opener.
1429: "It is understandable why US Ranger is a hot favourite for the race, but the price it is way too short for me. Looking for some value, it may come in the way of Arabian Gleam."

1422: The horses for the opening race - the Jersey Stakes - are in the ring, and Clare Balding very much likes the look of US Ranger, who is now into 5-4.
BBC journalist Kate Adie picks Traffic Ranger as the best turned-out horse, and then offers some heartfelt words of support for Alan Johnston, the BBC man still being held in Gaza.
1420: "Isn't it funny the way the boss always thinks he is automatically the best tipster?
"Sat in rainy Dublin here being advised how Strategic Prince can't win the first. Oh how I hope he does!"
David Wilson via text
1415: Right then, let's get down to tips. BBC Radio Five Live's Luke Harvey has picked out the Mick Channon-trained Flashy Wings in the 1505 Windsor Forest Stakes as his selection.
Clare Balding and Willie Carson have opted for Satwa Queen in the same race, while Angus Loughran (aka Statto) plumps for Manduro in the 1545.
A word of warning: the BBC team's first-day tipping success rate suggests caution is advised.
1410: The national anthem is belted out by the brass band, and gets a generous round of applause at the end.
Another fact of the day for you: The Queen speaks fluent French.
1400: The royal procession makes its way along the straight, headed by The Queen and Prince Philip. I'm reliably informed that she is wearing a primrose yellow outfit. Looks like yellow to me, but there you go.
The Prince of Wales is in the second carriage with Camilla, and they are chatting away with Lord Vesty and his wife. The Vesty family were pioneers in the refrigeration of meat, Clare Balding informs us. You learn something new every day...
1355: Afternoon all. Here we are then, with an hour to go before the start of the racing on day two of Royal Ascot.
