Dubawi won the National Stakes at the Curragh |
Bookmakers have slashed the odds on Dubawi following his impressive victory in a trial in Dubai. The son of Dubai Millennium romped home in a six-runner Godolphin contest, prompting William Hill to cut him to 7-4 from 5-2 for the 2000 Guineas.
The Saeed Bin Suroor-trained horse is also a 4-1 favourite for the Derby.
With Frankie Dettori on board, Dubawi surged clear of Happy As Larry, ridden by Darragh O'Donohoe, to win the mile race comfortably at Nad Al Sheba.
Bin Suroor was delighted with the performance, saying: "That should put him right for the Guineas.
"He has been in excellent form all winter and has been in great condition. He has a touch of class, but we know the Guineas is a tough race."
