Derby fancy Dubawi gave Frankie Dettori another Group One success in the Dunnes Stores National Stakes at the Curragh.

The colt, trained by Saeed Bin Suroor and a 8-13 favourite, won the seven furlong feature in style to make it three successes from three starts.

"He had the race won by the one-and-a-half furlong marker and I think he has still got more to give," said Dettori.

Tommy Stack's Berenson ran well to finish second under Wayne Lordan while Russian Blue finished third.

Godolphin paid 30,000 Euro to supplement the unbeaten Dubawi the race and the move cartainly paid off.

The son of Dubai Millennium, having won both his starts at Goodwood and Newmarket, tracked Aidan O'Brien's Russian Blue early on before moving to the front with two to travel.

The Group One contest has often proved a pointer to the following season's Classics and in recent years has been won by such high-class performers as Desert King, King Of Kings, Sinndar, Hawk Wing and Refuse To Bend.

Imediately after the race, Ladbrokes cut Dubawi to 14-1 from 25-1 for the 2000 Guineas and 10-1 from 16s for the Epsom Derby.
