Carrie Ford improved her chances of partnering Forest Gunner at the Grand National after receiving her riding license for Aintree. "My licence came in the post and it's all going well at the moment," said Ford, who won the Fox Hunters' Chase on Forest Gunner at Aintree last year.
"We have still got to get the horse there in one piece. However, Forest Gunner is fit and well at the moment."
Forest Gunner is priced at 16-1 for the four-and-a-half-mile race next month.
Ford, whose National ride is trained by husband Richard, has been training hard for the British horse racing's biggest race.
"I have been riding out every day and training hard. All being well, I will try to have two or three rides before Aintree," she added.
"I have approached some people to try to get a ride in the ladies' only hurdle race at Huntingdon next week and hopefully I will be able to fit in one or two more.
"I won't be riding in the Foxhunters (at Cheltenham) as we don't have anything for it at the moment."
