Ireland's men beat Canada 2-1 in Sunday's final to win the inaugural Setanta Sports Trophy at Belfield. John Jermyn scored the opener from a short corner on 46 minutes and David Hobbs added the second on 63 while Wayne Fernandez grabbed a consolation.
Wales beat Egypt 4-2 on penalty strokes after a 1-1 draw to take third place.
Germany beat South Africa 5-2 to claim the women's crown with Ireland seeing off Scotland 2-1 for third with goals by Roisin Flinn and Cliodhna Sargent.
The Ireland men's team finished the tournament with a 100 per cent record, winning all four of their matches.
After the final, Ireland coach Dave Passmore said: "Whilst lacking in the attacking creativity of yesterday, this was a strong defensive performance and we ground out a result.
"This is a pleasing aspect, especially given we are in the heaviest phase of our physical training."
