Eight nations will descend on Warwickshire later this month when the United Kingdom hosts the Polocrosse World Cup for the first time.

The Onley Grounds Equestrian Centre is the venue for the 10-day event which begins on Friday, 8 July.

Australia are the number one team and Rugby's James Davidson believes the UK will be given a tough examination.

Davidson said: "It'll be a true test for all of us as there are going to be a lot of top players coming over."

The Brits are currently ranked second in the world in the sport, which is a hybrid of polo and lacrosse, and have been grouped with the USA, Ireland and South Africa.

The other group, headed by the Aussies, includes Zimbabwe, Zambia and New Zealand.

The top two teams from both qualify for the semi-finals with the final scheduled for Sunday, 17 July.
