Bechtolsheimer will ride Mistral Hojris at Windsor this week

Top dressage rider Laura Bechtolsheimer says her Olympic experience can help her at the European Championships.

Bechtolsheimer is part of a GB team that includes another Gloucestershire rider, Carl Hester.

"At the Olympics I think I was over confident beforehand in my mental ability. This year I've been clinical in my approach" she said.

"I'm as prepared as I can be, my horse is feeling good, now it's about getting out and doing it."

The Ampney St Peter rides competes on Wednesday as part of the team event, with individual Grand Prix and Freestyle classes later in the week.

"It would be great to deliver a good performance here in front of a home crowd. We've got a great team here and I'm in good form with my horse on an individual basis. I just have to hope it all works on the day."
